Should we present the 2008 vintage? This wine’s incredible balance is comparable in style to the 1988, 1990, 1996 and 2002 vintages although we believe actually it surpasses them. It is tempting to enjoy it in its youth but we assure you that your patience will be rewarded if you give it more time.
2011 is an exceptional vintage with its notes of ripe lemons and exotic citrus fruits underpinned by an intensely soft and smooth texture.
The 2007 is here. An open, approachable, long and enchanting vintage that is already drinking beautifully. The unique and incredibly enticing nose offers beeswax, lime blossom, honey and lavender. The palate is honest and upfront with a dense and well balanced finish. Ready to be enjoyed.
The 2006 causes time to stand still in what is a tasting experience unlike any other. Its still fresh and timid nose gives way to a rich and complex palate. Its incredible structure suggests that it would be wise to wait a few more years in order to enjoy it in its finest hour.
2005 is a seductive vintage characterised by excellent ripeness and a complex aromatic profile of toasty notes, cocoa, yeast, freshly baked pastries and roasted hazelnuts. This remarkably generous vintage is currently drinking beautifully. The generous dosage of its era is particulrly well-suited to its character.
2002 could be considered as one of the finest vintage of the decade. With its remarkable precision and clarity of aromas, it displays all the qualities of the very best Chouilly chardonnays. It gives the impression of alternating between two different words, from iodised notes and sea spray to the intense ripe, stewed fruits of this vintage.
The growers got quite a surprise at the end of the century with the 1999 vintage. It is an austere wine. We advise using a large glass and keeping the serving temperature above 10°c. If served well, this wine will truly come into its own. Its lacy nose exudes elderberry, honeysuckle and freshly baked pastries but it is the palate that will truly charm you. The long saline finish indicates that this wine still has a long way to go. An extraordinary vintage.
The legendary 1996 vintage still has a lot to offer. It has retained its youthful freshness and developed enticing aromas of ripe lemons, orange blossom and pear jam underpinned by excellent tension and a zesty, slightly salty finish. This wine is still evolving and promises many more outstanding moments.
We regularly taste our older vintages from our Oenothèque and closely monitor the evolution of all of our wines. The 1995s have been particularly well preserved. During our recent tastings in early 2020 we could fully sense this wine’s charm and we believe it is now at its pinnacle. The nose discloses notes of almond, apricot, orange peel and honey. The wine’s freshness is balanced out beautifully by its soft mouthfeel. If you have any of these bottles left then we encourage you to go ahead and enjoy them.
